'Between Doh Kyungsoo and D.O.'

"Be it D.O., Doh Kyungsoo, or any other characters that I played, all of them are me. I do not feel confused, since all of them belong to one figure"

On the morning of December 11st at a cafe in seoul's palpan-dong, jungro district, Doh Kyungsoo shared the behind story of his upcoming movie 'Swing Kids'.

(swing kids synopsis omitted)

Doh Kyungsoo debuted as D.O., a member of group EXO, in 2012 and is now currently walking on the path as an actor too. He uses his real name 'Doh Kyungsoo' instead of D.O. on his acting activities.

On being asked if there's any gap between D.O. and Doh Kyungsoo, he answered "I think D.O. ih Doh Kyungsoo and vice versa. Roh Kisoo is also Doh Kyungsoo too. Sometimes I have this thought, an intereting part of being an actor is in being able to do things I normally didn't do through my character. Roh Kisoo in 'Swing Kids' is something that I wanted to do, I liked his playful and trouble maker character. I'm really satisfied that I was able to do things I couldn't do normally through this character". Adding on, he said "Right now people aren't calling me by D.O. much. The fans too, always called my by 'kyungsoo'"

Noting on the changes, Doh Kyungsoo added "During one of the stage greeting for the movie 'Room Number 7, fans called me by 'kyungsoo-ya', so I asked'among all the people here, there are no one who's younger than me right?'. Since then (fans) have been calling me by 'kyungsoo oppa' (laughs)"

Lastly, Doh Kyungsoo promised himself to always develop as an actor. In order to developing step by step, he pledged for himself not to neglect his interest.

"I think about it this morning, that I learned a lot from the movies I did. Like tap dancing, I was already thinking in advance on what are the things I should do. Right now I'm doing a lot of cooking but I can't play any musical instruments. Perhaps someday I might meet a characters (in that direction) but I've thought to learn about it beforehand. Just like that, I'm thinking of adding my skills one by one. I want to make an effort on it despite it might be burdening me."

Doh Kyungsoo 'EXO members gave hot response in the group chat after watching Swing Kids'

On the morning of December 11st at a cafe in seoul's palpan-dong, jungro district, Doh Kyungsoo shared the behind story of his upcoming movie 'Swing Kids'.

Doh Kyungsoo is both a member of EXO and also an actor. Having group schedules on top of prearing for 'Swing Kids' was never a smooth process, he revealed. "I practiced tap dance for 5 months. I still remember the routines I did during that time. Even when the movie ended I still unconsciously tapping my foot. It has become a habit. I would always practiced tap dancing when we have a 10-minute break time during practicing for EXO dance routine. If the break time is longer than that, I would put on y tap dancing shoes and practiced. As I practiced the members would say that it's noisy, and that since the movie has ended please stop doing it." he said while laughing.

It is said that the members gave a good response after coming to the VIP Premiere of 'Swing Kids' that is held on December 6th. "Whenever I'm having a VIP Premiere, many of the members couldn't come but this time all 7 members came. I could feel that they enjoyed the movie. In our group chat they told me that they're proud of it. Baekhyun who learned tap dancing earlier than me for his musical, said that he wanted to learn it, and chen said the same thing too. While Chanyeol and Chanyeol is throwing jokes by talking in north korean accent.

To this, kyungsoo remembered the times when he was wearing the tap dancing shoes.

"At first I was so bad at it that I thought how could I be like this. After all of us practiced diligently, I could see myself growing. Although I didn't join the group practice for many times due to EXO's schedule, the inside of (group practice) is like a competition. Since it is very difficult not to make a sound when you're doing certain movements. It was quite like a competition, to see who's faster at producing sounds. There are times when I feel that it's a pity that I couldn't practiced more. However I also feel proud that I'm participating in a musical movie like this that is not usually done in Korea."
